The error is Uber’s lack of common sense, and that this situation needed some sort of social media attention.

Stop assuming the computer error is right. You lazy bastards.

Just get a car. Drive it yourself. Quit relying on others. Never had never will.

I use both services, sometimes higher then the other. Example: uber is charging $10 while lyft is asking for $8 or vice versa

Every time I tried using this app, they overcharged two times as much, meaning a normal $8 ride went to $16. I deleted Uber from my phone (I know they do ranges, but this way is easier to explain)

Me and my family have been using mytaxi in London since mid 2016 after Uber scandals got media attention. we don't have Lyft in London btw. mytaxi is better in a way that you get Black Cabs which are more professional than Uber drivers I've met using Uber.

How is that a driver error? I’m confused. What did the driver do that caused this to happen?

Lift it's worst, I work for both for years and I cannot understand why lift get away with so many things, for example on Monday in New York City where I work, we had and emergency, bomb situations and Uber had no surge at all in the whole area, when in the other hand lyft had surge, and was charging 3 times more and no one said anything, it just not fair. And then you media and guy like this one, saying stupid things. They all the same, Uber, lyft, juno, etc… But I think and the past 6 months uber are the best specially after they fire the CEO. That's what happen when you dominate the market.

I am never ever going to sit in a vehicle driven by a unknown half idiot stranger … are you freaking kidding me?
    Ueber Lyft my ass…
That said, taxi drivers aren't better.
So yeah I drive my car and screw the share economy. …
I rather wait for a self driving car service than put my life in the hands of an undefined moron

I don’t use Uber anymore. They’re way too careless and corrupt.

Lyft just became available in Toronto too, and after that data breach they couldn't have come at a better time.
